A Walking Tour - The Center - Av Corrientes

Ann and I bought a walking tours of Buenos Aires book and decided to do one of them yesterday. Ann chose "La Calle Corrientes" San Nicolas. We took the subte (subway) from Plaza Italia to Callao and then our tour started. The books starts off..."This is one of the most important avenues in Buenos Aires, probably the most representative. This holds most of the things that are worshipped by the portenos: tango, nightlife, theatres, cafes and bookstores." Sounds great!

Well we certainly saw all of the above, but I wanted to give you some highlights.

The crazy window display of La Maison Lion D'Or - a candy store...
El Gato Negro - the Buenos Aires equivalent of Murchie's tea store.
Some of the beautiful architecture and buildings in The Center.
